Which course should I start off with? I have rope access Level 1?
This is a complex question, and would be based on many end user variables.
For example, if you are targeting general work on the ropes, a common aspect would be thickness measurement of steel components, at elevated height where normal access is not possible. It would therefore be fitting to start with ultrasonic testing (UT) or limited ultrasonic wall thickness measurement. (WT)(UTM)

If you are starting a career with the goal of eventually having multiple disciplines in NDT, then the route to follow would be to start with surface methods, PT, MT, VT and then UT, RT, and ET.

It would make most sense to look at the companies (end users) that you are seeking employment from, and find out which NDT methods are most sought, according to the contracts that they have work secured for.

Eventually one would aim to have as many disciplines of NDT as possible for a lucrative and successful career.
A Good start for the offshore industry would be MT, ET and UT.
A Good general start to an NDT career would be PT and MT.

What Time does training Start Each day?
Under normal circumstances, Lectures start at 08h00.
We usually finish at 16h00.
What happens if I arrive late?
If you arrive late on the very first day, by 30 minutes to a maximum of 1 hour, we will wait for you.
This is because of directions, finding the place, and getting lost etc.
If you miss more than 4 hours of the training we unfortunately have to cancel the training and re-schedule you on the next available event.
We really do not want to do this, but it is our responsibility to ensure that you do not miss the training sessions.
If you are late, please call us: 0317083433.

Do you provide, remote, or online training?
No we do not, Unfortunately for all the level 2 Training methods, there is always a physical practical element that has to be done here at our facility. We therefore do not cater for any online training platforms.

Do I need to do an Eye Test?
The Eye test is not mandatory for the training.
Eventually you will have to do the eye test, as it is a mandatory requirement for your company to certify you, or when seeking PCN certification. You can actually download the eye tests from the internet, and self-evaluate yourself.
Click here for the Eye Test requirements.

Do the MT and PT courses each include both Level 1 and Level 2 training, or are the levels offered separately?
All our courses are structured in level 1 and 2 Combined, and we prefer to do it this way.
Are the PCN certification exams included in the course fees, or are they charged separately?
The PCN Exam fee is separate. Not every candidate wishes to undertake the ISO 9712 based PCN Exam.
Are there any academic prerequisites for enrolling?
I did not take Physics in Grade 10–12 — would this affect my ability to enrol in or complete the courses?
The minimum entry requirements are outlined in our Terms and Conditions; however, we do not prevent applicants from proceeding if these are not met.
Should you choose to proceed without meeting the entry requirements, you will be required to sign a waiver acknowledging that you are doing so at your own risk. This waiver can be found on the Course Application Form.

Can I do a PAUT Course without a UT Certificate?
No, unfortunately UT is a pre-requisite for PAUT. To do the PAUT Training Course, a student must have a UT Level 2 Certificate from a BINDT ATO. This means PAUT cannot be done without a UT Certificate.
This also applies to PCN Exams, meaning the PAUT PCN Exam cannot be done without a UT Level 2 PCN Certificate.
